Little Feat is an American rock band formed by singer-songwriter, lead vocalist and guitarist Lowell George and keyboardist Bill Payne in 1969 in Los Angeles.

After leaving Scandal in 1984, vocalist Patty Smyth waited three years before launching her solo career with the Never Enough album. Although it sold respectably, it didn't have any major hit singles. Smyth returned to the top of the charts in 1992 with "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough," a duet with Don Henley; the single hit number two and went gold. Its parent album, Patty Smyth, also went gold and featured two other minor hits, "No Mistakes" and "I Should Be Laughing."

Marios Tokas was a very gifted Cypriot composer who died recently (2008) relatively young (54 yo). The main characteristics of Tokas' music are his wonderful melodies, his delicate style and a tender "loving" feeling captivating the listener from the very first notes of his songs. "Little North Winds" (Voriadakia in Greek) is one of his early albums full of sweet melodic ballads. He selected three young singers (two male and one female) with fresh and very expressive voices. A CD that you want to hear everytime you are in a sentimental mood. Enjoy.

These 83 songs go a long way toward demonstrating how Little Feat evolved their hard-to-define but infectious swamp-rock, blues, and boogie sound. The final disc in the four-disc Hotcakes & Outtakes, dubbed "Studio Outtakes," offers up the very first demo tapes made by Lowell George, the mastermind of the group.
Backed by keyboardist Billy Payne, drummer Richie Hayward, and bassist Roy Estrada (the first player to leave the band), George's down-and-dirty slide guitar and plaintive voice blend grit, intelligence, and humor. Combining an off-center Southern California rock sensibility (George and Estrada had both been members of Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention) with a love of New Orleans rhythms, Little Feat became a quintessentially American band. Songs from their classic albums are gathered here, as well as live recordings and tracks from the post-George era. After George died, the group took a hiatus in the 1980s before reforming; the third disc chronicles 1988 to '98 and shows that Little Feat are as distinctive as ever. The box includes notes by Bud Scoppa, interviews with the group's founding members, and a previously unseen painting by Neon Park, whose cover art graced a number of Little Feat albums.
