Autodesk Softimage software solution in 2013 provides the user with powerful new creative tool kits, a new interactive environment of high precision and advanced customization, thereby helping artists and creative designers to get the maximum benefit from the product.

The new version includes improvements such as new module to simulate CrowdFX complex behavior of the crowd, the use of Bullet Physics engine to simulate the physical interactions of objects ICE, higher quality rendering three-dimensional objects in the viewport. In addition, for those who switched to Softimage with 3ds Max, it became possible to install the same tools for managing camera, mouse, object selection and installation of key personnel, such as hot keys.

In 2013 Softimage is also new tools for polygon modeling and selection of objects, updated SDK (allowing for a program you can create extensions) have been provided new tools for collaboration on projects - now you can leave comments to each other in a "floating" replicas.

Artists can now create sophisticated crowd simulations in a dedicated environment within Softimage. Using the power of the ICE (Interactive Creative Environment) multi-threaded particle system, artists can create massively complex effects with huge numbers of characters that react intelligently to their environment and each other. CrowdFX simulations can be easily exported to Maya 2013 for integration into existing Maya scenes.
- High-Quality Viewport
A new High-Quality Viewport enables artists to refine their content more efficiently, by reducing the need to frequently preview using a software renderer. With the ability to evaluate their work interactively in an environment that closely mimics the rendered output, artists can make better creative decisions in less time.
